Learning to cook with fresh sea kelp

Bainbridge Artisans’ Resource Network hosted a series of courses about how to use fresh sea kelp in the home kitchen

Teaming up with BARN and Seagrove Kelp Farm I developed recipes and curriculum to introduce people to Alaria ribbon kelp as a highly versatile home kitchen ingredient. It is an extremely interesting ingredient which has cultural significance, practical uses, environmental purpose, and can give our cooking unique umami and textural qualities.

While the first series has finished I have no doubt that Island Larder will continue to be involved with introducing fresh kelp to the public.
